Dr. DeVore believe's there are major advantages with this program because it has a strong emphasis on the examination of the fetal cardiovascular system as it relates to Down syndrome. For example, when the fetal heart is included in the evaluation of the second-trimester fetus at risk for Down syndrome, the detection rate increases from 60% to over 90%.
